The Origin of the Aesthetic
My visuals are rooted in analog discipline. It began with a disposable camera at my grandmother’s summer house on Long Island, which rapidly evolved into purchasing my first SLR at fifteen and mastering the chemical precision of the darkroom. This foundational training in film dictates my current approach: I do not over-edit or airbrush reality. I capture the world with technical exactness and emotional honesty.
My formal foundation was built during my time at Gould Academy and was later refined through rigorous institutional training at Lesley College of Art and Design in Cambridge, MA. Following my studies, I spent years refining my environmental portraiture. I co-founded BlueHour Photo Ventures, an educational workshop agency, where I trained emerging photographers to execute their creative visions in some of the world's most beautiful natural landscapes. This experience fundamentally shaped my commitment to environmental sustainability and zero-trace photography in fragile ecosystems.
